Accessibility
“Mundo Estrella Galicia, S.L.U. ” aims that the presentation of all the essential contents and functionalities of the website are independent of the physical devices and web browsers used for this purpose. They are encoded with technical standards for free use, and accessible for browsers adapted to people with sensory, motor or cognitive limitations.
The content is in XHTML format – an open standard hypertext composition language, developed and recommended by W3C, the Web Consortium.
The elements that constitute the content (images, text, structures, links) are written according to the priority level of the Accessibility Guidelines for Web Content of the W3C.
Style sheets (CSS, another W3C standard) are used to assign the presentation formats and to distribute the contents and links on the pages.
It is recommended to use the most recent versions of browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, Konqueror, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc.
The European Union, in the resolution of the Council of March 25, 2002, encourages the Member States to take into account the need for digital content to be accessible and, following this recommendation, Law 34/2002, of July 11th , of services of the information society and electronic commerce, provides that Public Administrations shall adopt the necessary measures so that the information available on its Internet pages is accessible to people with disabilities and the elderly, in accordance with the generally recognized content accessibility criteria, before December 31, 2005.
Consistent with this objective, the web design of “Mundo Estrella Galicia, S.L.U. ” has been made taking into account the accessibility recommendations for the first priority level of the WAI (Web Accessibility Initiative) guidelines of the W3C.
