Cellar beer and canned food pairing
This freshly brewed unpasteurised beer reaches the point of sale directly from our cellars. The absence of pasteurisation means that the beer has to be transported via a network of specialised refrigerated vehicles driven by our own specialised staff. Refrigeration remains constant in the cellars, thanks to the characteristic tanks that also ensure that the carbonation point of the beer on leaving our brewery cellars in unchanged. These unique characteristics create a series of unique sensory properties that set it apart from other beers.

Smoothness
and texture

Sardines from the Galician rias. Once they have been washed in warm brine and painstakingly cleaned, they are steamed in order to harden them and prevent them from breaking. They are then placed in the cans by hand. Finally, they are covered with olive oil of the finest quality in order to maintain their optimum flavour and protect their delicate texture.

They feed on plankton, small fish, crustaceans and other species.

BREWING PROCESS

Brewed from a special wort at Hijos de Rivera’s only brewery in A Coruña. The master brewers dedicate around a month’s work to producing the Estrella Galicia Especial (50 cl cans). It is refrigerated for around 50% of this period.

INGREDIENTS

Water from the city of A Coruña, two-strain malts (Pilsen and roasted), Nugget and Perle Hallertau hops and specially selected Hijos de Rivera yeast.

TASTING NOTES

BRILLIANT GOLDEN TONES.

NEUTRAL AND LIGHT IN THE MOUTH, WITH STRONG HOPPY FLAVOUR.

REMINISCENT OF THE BARLEY AND MALT USED IN ITS PRODUCTION, WITH ROASTED NOTES AND HINTS OF DRIED FRUIT.
