1906 Black Coupage and mussels in marinade sauce

The Black Sheep

1906 Black Coupage paired with canned food
A German-inspired black Dunkel bock type beer crafted from the coupage of 4 malts with varying degrees of roasting in traditional Czech style.
With its dark colour and ruby hues, the black sheep of the family stands out for its roasted aromas that evoke malt, cacao and raisins with a heady presence.
The Czech (Sladek) hops stand out in the mouth due to their moderate and lingering bitterness offset against subtle base notes of cacao, coffee and liquor, the result of a skilful combination of malts.
Mussels in marinade sauce
- Family: BIVALVE MOLLUSCS
- Origin: P.D.O. “Mexillón de Galicia”
- Capture method: MUSSEL FARMS (FLOATING RAFTS) IN THE GALICIAN RIAS
Acidity, unctuosity and sweetness:
the final coupage
To accompany this beer, we have selected mussels in marinade sauce from Conservas Peperetes
The heady and consistent foam of our Black Coupage prepares the mouth, whilst the roasted bitter notes of the beer pair with the smooth, salty creaminess of the mussels, bringing out their full flavour and texture.
The full-bodied malts make for a lingering aftertaste, effectively clearing any acidity from the marinade sauce, making for a perfect combination.
